Galapagos Safari Camp

Wonder on the lands of Charles Darwin

Nestled in the jungle of the Santa Cruz highlands, in the heart of the Galapagos Islands, the Galapagos Safari Camp offers an ideal springboard for exploring the fascinating landscapes of Charles Darwin's homeland. This remote archipelago indeed contains out-of-this-world ecosystems, astonishing wildlife and a spectacle of spellbinding magic. Bordering the wild spaces of the National Park, the Galapagos Safari Camp is a family-run property, a dream come true for Stephanie and Michael Mesdag, who fell in love with the archipelago in 2003. The Camp comprises just 9 safari-style tents immersed in lush vegetation, and a family suite located near the main lodge, ideal for those travelling with young children. Arranged in an arc on the hillside, the tents offer superb views of the jungle and the coast of Santa Cruz, which can be admired from the private terrace. The Camp's location on the edge of a volcanic cone allows guests to enjoy superb sunrises, from both the accommodation and the dining area or shared swimming pool. At the Camp, Ecuadorian cuisine showcases local recipes and traditional dishes with refined simplicity. A list of South American wines perfectly complements the experience of dining perched in the forest. By day, exploring the archipelago on foot, encountering wildlife or taking boat excursions promise unforgettable memories.

All of them inspired the famous theory of evolution!

ETHICS

As well as having restored the forest on land previously occupied by a farm, Galapagos Safari Camp has chosen to welcome its guests in tents, minimising its impact on the ground. The Camp reduces its use of plastic as much as possible, collects rainwater, uses solar energy and fights against the development of invasive plant species. The Camp has also forged a strong network with suppliers from the archipelago and mainly employs local people, supporting the surrounding communities.
